Monday, January 30, 2006  The transcendentally ridiculous Chuck Klosterman is authoring a Super Bowl blog for ESPN Page 2. Quote of the year:The Super Bowl represents different things to different people. To some, it is akin to a secular holiday -- a drunken, three-hour Christmas for those who hate Jesus. Klosterman is basically what I would have become had I taken my "I want to be Hunter S. Thompson" narratives from college and finely honed them, rather than posting half-finished pieces on my website. Oh had I only finished my batshit insane, DXM-fueled novel about Gonzo journalist Montrell Flowers and his buddy Chicago Jon covering the 2000 election. I think it had some ironic/pretentious title like Our Protagonist Montrell Battles the Nefarious Cough Syrup Ninjas!!! I guess its better than aspiring to be Chuck Palahniuk and writing about anally fucking carrots and swimming pools. But not by much. posted by Nate on 8:45 PM link
