Behold the best e-mail ever. I sent this to a customer who found an item through Pricewatch that we were out of stock on. Bear in mind that the product page was deleted and that no money changed hands; he just decided to be an unreasonable douchebag about it and requested that we send him an item that we repeatedly indicated that we didn't have. Then he left bad feedback on Pricewatch, which made me go into BOFH mode.

I ask: What good is it being webmaster if you can't get snarky with the idiots once in a while?

From Sports Illustrated comes the headline Unit Scratched From First Start. If I didn't know that baseball's 6'7" Randy Johnson was nicknamed "The Big Unit," I would have thought this referred to some unfortunate bicycle race accident. (Why do they put the middle bar on boy's bikes anyway? Are they sadists, or simply script writers for America's Funniest Home Videos?)

Anyway, this brings to mind the greatest misconstrued headline ever. Well, ever since the grade school classic book The Hardy Boys and the Mystery of the Chinese Junk, in which Frank and Joe wrestle with an Asian guy on some shag carpeting in the back of a van... Earlier this year, the New Yok Giants football team had a defensive tackle named Norman Hand. Norman was a trooper and played most of the year with a tweaked muscle in his upper leg. After he aggravated the injury once again and was deactivated for the remainder of the year, the Yahoo News Sports Page proclaimed, Giant Hand Pulls Groin.

And they thought Janet Jackson was obscene.
